Robertson.
Robertson combines a rolling pastoral setting with acclaimed locally grown potatoes, truffles, pears, cheese and paddock-raised eggs. The rich soil combined with a good rainfall and cool climate is perfect for growing produce, which is celebrated each year at the annual Robertson show, or you can pop into the Southern Highlands Artisans Collective to see original works on show.
Known as the Green Heart of the Highlands, Robertson is home to some of the region’s finest cafés and eateries. The famous Robertson Cheese Factory has been serving up cheese delights since 1936, while the iconic Robertson Pie Shop is a favourite with passing motorists, as is the award-winning Moonacres restaurant, and the Robertson Public House, also known as the Robbo Pub, which has a great beer garden and restaurant.
Local kids here can attend the Robertson Public School, while the littlies go to Robertson Community Preschool. If you’re too busy to get to the major shops at Bowral, you can grab all your necessities from the Robertson Supermarket or the Robertson Fruit Shop.
Robertson is located on the Illawarra Highway about an hour and a half from Sydney via Wollongong, or via the Hume motorway through Bowral.
