Sydney’s Malabar is a cruisey coastal suburb with panoramic ocean views and a year-round holiday atmosphere. With a rambling coastline and scenic golf course dominating its landscape, it’s hard to decide where to focus your gaze in Malabar.

Located 15 kilometres south of Sydney and 15 minutes away from the airport, Malabar is part of the City of Randwick. While not as well known as neighbouring Maroubra, Malabar is a desirable seaside suburb in its own right. The Malabar beachfront is a quaint 200-metre-wide bay between Boota Point and Tupia Head and part of Long Bay. The sheltered stretch of bay makes for delightful beach conditions for young families looking for calm waves and a relaxing ambience. Gorgeous sandstone rocks and cliffs border the beach on both sides, and there’s an inviting rock pool on the southern end of the beach.

Malabar is a predominantly residential suburb with many of the houses enjoying beautiful views of the ocean, Randwick Golf Course or both. With the pristine golf course, Malabar Headland, ANZAC Rifle Range, and Pioneer Park completing the landscape, Malabar locals get to enjoy plenty of greenery in this part of Sydney. A few cafés and specialty stores can be found on Prince Edward Street while other amenities close to Malabar include Southpoint Shopping Centre, Westfield Eastgardens and Pacific Square.
