Just past Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast, Lake Cathie is a serene seaside town and a family-friendly haven. Here, life revolves around the lake, which is ideal for swimming, fishing and kayaking, and Lake Cathie Beach, a peaceful stretch of sand attracts surfers from around the region.

Given their stunning surrounds and year-round warm weather, locals never tire of being in the outdoors, be it for hiking, bushwalking, boating, and strolling along the Coastal Walk.  The village centre has all the amenities locals need, including a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, post office, community hall, newsagent and medical centre, as well as a selection of cafes and restaurants. Home of The Big Lawn Bowl, the Lake Cathie Bowling Club and adjoining tavern are popular neighbourhood haunts. But when in need of more variety, Port Macquarie is just 15-minutes down the road.

The local primary school was built in 2015, making Lake Cathie an even more convenient place for families to lay down roots. There are dozens of schools in nearby suburbs like North Haven, Camden Haven, and Port Macquarie, as well as larger shopping complexes and more dining and entertainment options.

Transport-wise, Lake Cathie is easily accessible via major highways. Buses run regularly through the suburb, and there are train stations in Herons Creek, Kendall, and Wauchope. Port Macquarie Airport is a 15-minute drive away, and operates over 100 flights a week to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
