Kenmore.
Perched on the Brisbane River, Kenmore offers a taste of country living close to the city. Its leafy streets, rolling hills and large lots make it a magnet for professionals as well as families with kids.A family-friendly suburb, Kenmore is home to excellent schools, including Kenmore State School, Kenmore South State School and Our Lady of the Rosary School.
It’s dotted with beautiful parks, playgrounds and playing fields, like local favourites Akuna Street Park and Kingfisher Park. Kenmore Village and Kenmore Plaza cater to residents’ everyday shopping needs. Cafes and restaurants line Moggill Road, and there are more shopping, dining and entertainment options, plus a mega-mall, a short drive away in Indooroopilly.
Kenmore is well-connected to the city and the University of Queensland. Buses run regularly, and there’s a train station one suburb over in Indooroopilly. Drivers can jump on Centenary Highway, Coronation Drive and Legacy Way to easily travel to and from the city and surrounds.
The property market in Kenmore is mostly made up of freestanding homes on big blocks, and there are more townhouses and apartments popping up. The suburb was developed in the 50s and 60s, so much of the architecture reflects that era.
