Calamvale.
A sprawling suburb south of Brisbane, Calamvale offers large blocks, leafy streets and a peaceful lifestyle. It has gone through a period of growth in recent years, and now boasts new retail outlets, updated facilities and contemporary homes. Thanks to several parks, a creek and the Karawatha Nature Reserve on its border, Calamvale has plenty of lush greenery, walking tracks, and open spaces for families to enjoy.
Calamvale is home to a mix of acreage properties and modern brick homes, many of which have big backyards. Calamvale Central is a convenient spot, with supermarkets, banks, newsagents, fashion stores, medical services, a travel agent and car wash. Sunnybank Hills shopping centre is only a few minutes away.
As for schools, there are three in the vicinity: Calamvale Community College, Runcorn Heights State School, and Stretton State College, and many more within a five-kilometre radius. The Calamvale Hotel, and its Suites & Conference Centre, attracts business travellers as well as families passing through.
Many residents work in the CBD, which is a 40-minute drive (in rush hour) or a 30-minute train ride from Altandi and Runcorn stations. There are regular bus services to the city, including handy express services during peak times. Calamvale is also close to the Gateway and Logan Motorways, which transport commuters to the airport and Gold Coast efficiently.
