Bellerive.

Brought to you by

Meaning ‘beautiful riverbank’, Bellerive is a charming suburb in the greater Hobart area that boasts beautiful beaches, pretty heritage buildings, and a small but thriving arts community. Bellerive’s rich history is on show as you stroll through Bellerive Village, which has several of the state’s oldest buildings and colonial architecture framed by leafy trees.

Relaxed and slow paced, life in Bellerive has all the benefits of living in a small country town – yet you’re only a 12-minute drive across the Tasman Bridge or a 15-minute ferry trip to Hobart. Its proximity to the city, picturesque views, and stately historic homes have made Bellerive an increasingly popular place to purchase property.

Lifestyle.

Those lucky enough to call Bellerive home relish all the benefits of bayside living. Living in Bellerive means residents can take a morning stroll or cycle along the Clarence Foreshore Trail, an easy track from Bellerive Beach Park along Howrah Beach. Young families, on the other hand, might choose to spend the day at Bellerive Beach Park, which has a large adventure playground, BBQ equipment and picnic tables. Like much of Tasmania, Bellerive is vulnerable to the elements – and residents can expect chilly, windy winters and moderate summers. Luckily, the seaside suburb has a couple of great pubs and hotels for food lovers to cosy up in. Tasmania’s sensational seafood is on show at Bellerive’s popular eateries, including the Bellerive Yacht Club. The Waterfront Hotel serves classic pub food with a glorious backdrop, while Hooked on Bellerive is a great spot to pick up some fish and chips and enjoy them by the beach.
