Australind.
Nestled on the shores of the Lescheanault Estuary, Australind offers affordable coastal living to its 14,000+ residents. Situated 12 kilometres northeast of Bunbury, and 165km south of Perth, the locals enjoy all the facilities of a major city in Bunbury and the peace of the country.
Surrounded by water, Australind is an aquatic paradise with the Brunswick and Collie rivers to the east and south and Leschenault to the west, with a white mangrove colony and boardwalk to explore. Leschenault Peninsula Nature Reserve offers plenty of bushwalks among native flora and fauna, including kangaroos and black swans. Many visit the region for boating, sailing and windsurfing, and it's not uncommon to encounter dolphins on watery expeditions, especially in nearby Koombana Bay. Prawning and fishing for silver bream and whiting is popular, and when in season, blue swimmer crabs.
Incredible nature aside, the occupants of Australind enjoy many local amenities including, schools, Australind Village Shopping Centre, Treendale Shopping Centre, Eaton Fair Shopping Centre (one of the largest shopping centres in the region), a 24/7 Spud Shed and the nearby Bunbury Golf Course.
